I meant to do this earlier and FAILED. But I have a new castmate so. Anyway I think I can get away with it since it never came up in play. So, in my infinite wisdom and recollection of Angel Sanctuary, I forgot the way the series ended. As I enjoy playing an angel and the ending makes that rather difficult, I'm going to tweak a bit of my updating. So that means I'm taking Setsuna after Eden but before he fights whoever the fuck the real big bad is because I don't even know at this point. Yes, it kinda dicks around with the whole "nothing to worry about back home" agenda I had going for him, but that never came up either way so there's really nothing written-in-stone to recon. It's more of an OOC/back of the head thing. He's still very "live in the moment" and believes time is waiting for him either way so it doesn't change much about the way I've been playing him. Since I played him a bit out-of-it when he first came back from his vacation months ago, I think I covered the awkwardness. Overall, if affects nobody but me, and I'm just putting it here because I was stupid earlier and just want to cover my bases. Yeah.

Oh yeah I've been contemplating de-aging Setsuna for a while, but since I never like doing things the simple way, I've been holding off while I figure things out. For now I think I'm probably going to do something with it on or near Setsuna's year anniversary (Sept. 9) or so since I shouldn't have to work that evening.

The complication is that while de-aged Setsuna is around, Alexiel will be as well. In the initial post, only Setsuna will be able to see/speak with Alexiel, as camp's interference with his body causes some sort of metaphysical disconnect. This is because there is no way in hell that I can play them both at the same time. I will be doing another post (also that week hopefully) where people will get to interact with Alexiel herself. I haven't decided whether Alexiel will only be able to be sensed/seen by people usually tuned into that sort of thing. Also wavering on whether she'll be in spiritual form or actually tangible. Might temporarily possess Setsuna during his change back. Not sure yet. Alexiel will also be in uber protective mode so be nice to the shouta.

This will probably also involve playercesting so I need to practice that and listen to the CDs and such to work out Alexiel's voice. I'm posting this both to sort out my thoughts and to see if anyone has any problems/suggestions they'd like to bring to the floor. I just want to play my sexy angel. ^^;;

So yeah Kira's relationship meme forced me to actually settle my thoughts on this matter. They are still pretty all over the place, but I think it flows better that way. This essay also doesn't touch on Alexiel because that deserves it own special essay, Alexiel being somewhat of a crazy bitch. The other thing to keep in mind that this essay pertains to Setsuna, as I play him, meaning post-volume11 with post-volume18 knowledge, as provided by his castmates. Regrettably, this means you lose most of the canon Setsuna/Lucifer interaction and eventual "resolution." It makes things a lot more complicated, but since this is camp-focused, what you see is what you get.

*Warning: This makes no sense, proves that I think Setsuna is a bit psychotic and is the lamest non-answer in the world for the major question. But it's an essay so that in itself is an accomplishment for me. It also took more than two hours and a good 30 minutes of random revision.*

( Imma sort explain the Setsuna/Kira thing from my side of the fence. Emphasis on SORTA. Realize, there will be less gay than there probably should be. Yes, I'm crying too. )

It's been a while since Setsuna had one of these, and I'm finally making him as social as he's supposed to be so let's have it. Comment to hear Setsuna gush about your awesome or tell you how much he wants to kick you in the face Speed.

I'm also opening this to hot or not because I'd like to explore more of that in my general play.

Scheduling Issues: I can usually do 7-8 p.m. to 2 a.m. unless work has me chasing some big story in the morning. I do occasionally romp off to visit my friends out of the area during the weekends. They don't like me ditching them for a computer. Also, after 2 a.m., I am usually a slug but I'll still poke.

How I Play: I'm slow and can usually only focus on one thing at a time (playing, IRC, ooc comm, etc.) If I have to assess a character's reaction in more detail, I will be slower.

As far as crack vs. emo goes: I enjoy the angst A LOT, but as I know what camp's major purpose is, I try to play to its strengths. Lelouch specifically, can be a dark, angsty bastard depending on the nature of the conversation, but absurdity tops him hard, as does cuteness. Zero is definitely the easier one to get on a crack topic. Kiba, I admit, can be a difficult one to thread with because he's not really a talker, but if you get him on a good topic, he usually opens up. He's a sweetie really.

Jumping: I love jumping. You can ask if you don't think I'll notice. I actually suggest this since my computer hates thread notifications.

Thread Dropping: I drop if I think the character would not continue the conversation further or if I just plain run out of time. If it's the latter, I usually have no problem with continuing later. I also drop threads if I'm in a response rut. Other than that, I WILL BACK-THREAD FOREVER. If I drop a thread you want to continue, feel free to contact me.

Comfort Levels: As Lelouch, I'm fairly cautious, but Setsuna can be a blunt asshole without realizing it, warn me if he's pushing you. He doesn't mean it; he just lacks tact. Zero
is also incredibly antagonist at times. Toboe and Kiba should be fair game. Note, Kiba is violent so take that into account if threats are otherwise involved.

Concrit: I hit the concrit comm whenever I can, but I always miss out on the big Sunday rush so if you have anything you want to say, I'll make this nice and screened for you. I like trying to better myself.

First, I have this oddball summary I created for the first 15 volumes. It covers most major plot points and backstories and serves as my way of keeping track of all of Angel Sanctuary's fun facts since the plot comes at you fast and hard. Yes, this is also my way of avoiding a long-ass character summary. =P Warning, this summary is LONG and chock full of spoilers.

Height: Average
Build: Average but slightly skinny
Hair: Dirty blond with a lot of brown
Eyes: some shade of brown, sometimes reddish (Yuki can't decide so I don't see why I should)

Medical info:
Setsuna's an angel and has technically died once, as well as an out-of-body experience or two. When he is channeling angel-mode, he has two white wings that he can easily withdraw again. When he's channeling Alexiel, usually brought about by EXTREME emotional stress, he reveals three wings. As far as the Alexiel deal goes, her soul is within him. He's borrowed her body before and she's borrowed his, the latter more frequent. In other words, the boy projects angelic power to the umpteenth level to those who are looking.

Misc Description:
He's usually wearing a large red pendant that houses his sword, Nanatsusaya, which deserves its own description but won't be getting that in this post. In canon, the sword goes through several changes but don't expect sword consistency here. ^^;; Setsuna also wears three earrings on his right ear. Originally these earrings harnessed his bloodlust and made him feel faint at the sight of blood, but they don't work so hot anymore and just add to the pretty. The earrings were given to him by his best friend, Sakuya Kira.

What's Okay To Mention Around Him:
Since I am pulling Setsuna from post-Volume 11, don't bring up anything with Lucifer. Setsuna has hints but knows nothing for sure at this point. However, this is not the case with Alexiel just for future reference. I can't think of anything else that's really off limits for now. But he doesn't take kindly to people speaking ill of his love for his sister obviously.
ETA: Set's deal with canon is a bit in flux at the moment. But for now I'd appreciate it if any Lucifer mentionings are limited to canonmates only.

Abilities:
As mentioned earlier, Setsuna is stock-piled with angelic power and it takes a LOT to counter. Alexiel was the result of experimentation with the powers of an even greater angelic entity, Adam Kamon, so the power she and Setsuna share is very different from your typical angel. Setsuna's getting better at controlling this power during his emotional meltdowns. He can take a lot of damage before staying down for the count, but this doesn't mean he's always a fast healer. And he's quite good at the soul-healing thing for those who may be overwhelmed by their own darkness. He's also got the Nanatsusaya, which is mostly ass-kicking ability in of itself.

Notes for the Psychics:
He once was pretty torn up about his incestuous feelings for his sister, but he's mostly come to term with those now. Setsuna obsesses over his sister so she's usually in his thoughts.

If you want to also pick up from Alexiel, there's a lot of self-doubt and guilt for the lives she's sacrificed in attempts to break free from her fate under God, worry over Setsuna, turmoil over her twin brother Rosiel and how she didn't kill him like he asked her before he went insane and probably stuff in there about her feelings for Lucifer and Nanatsusaya (the sword's human form, which is also linked with Lucifer). Obviously, I wouldn't suggest pinging from Alexiel unless you know canon.

Although Setsuna and Alexiel share the same soul, he doesn't know that much about her life so if you sense anything from her, Setsuna will likely have no clue what you are talking about.

Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?:
Bodyswapping's iffy because of Alexiel's presence and requires much discussion on how to resolve it. Usually when Setsuna's not-really-there, Alexiel is in control. So unless you have a super plan of awesomeness, I don't recommend it. Of course, Katou canonically assumes Setsuna's form, without any possession effects, so shapeshifting is not a big deal as long as there's some sort of notice.

Hugging/Kissing/Other non-violent physical contact:
As far as the physical fun goes, Setsuna is naturally big on contact so he's not going to pitch a fit if people get touchie-feelie, but he will probably look at you funny if he doesn't know you that well. Anything more intimate...um, just realize you're going to have to contend with his feelings for Sara and it could be a hard fight.

Maim/Murder/Death:
If you abuse Setsuna, he will attempt to kick your ass. He's a violent little mofo. There are exceptions if he can sense reason behind said violence. In such cases, he'll mostly go for subduing measures rather than outright beat-downs. With any of the more serious attacks, please run it by me first. I like to keep my boy in one piece. Murder/death, like bodyswapping, will be very tricky since it would also bring Alexiel into play. If you kill Setsuna, you release Alexiel's soul back to her original body. So yeah there's going to have to be some extreme plotting involved.
